Fall Travel

We’re back!  The recruiters have been busy collecting applications on the road.  If you haven’t seen us yet, odds are we’ll be at your school very soon.  Seniors, if you haven’t completed your admission application, make sure to do so.  Also, the first scholarship deadlines are quickly approaching on December 1st for the Regents and Presidential scholarships.  If you’re thinking about living on campus, make sure to check our our dorm rooms online at: http://housing.unm.edu/ or come for a housing tour to see them in person.  Remember, it’s always a good idea to visit campus before making your decisions.  Hope you all are having a good fall semester, keep up the good work.

New Mexico College Days

We’re in our second week of college days which means two of our recruiters are in the northwest part of the state, traveling between high schools and informing you all about the great things UNM has to offer.  If we’ve been to your school already, hopefully you had the opportunity to get all the information you needed from us; and if we have yet to be in your area, make sure you take time to meet with us and even turn in your application for next fall!  Next Monday, September 22nd, we’ll start the southeast week followed by the southwest week starting the 29th of September.  If you’re in the Albuquerque area, your college days will kick off with the RMACAC College Fair at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Sunday, October 5th from 12 - 3 p.m.  We hope to see you all in the next few weeks!

Freshman Family Day

Freshman Family Day is a UNM event which is intended to welcome incoming students and their families to the University Community. Freshman Family Day recognizes all of our incoming freshmen, introduces them and their families to the University administrators, faculty and staff, all of whom have been preparing for this day for a long time. The University wants our incoming students to know that they are about to enter a new phase in their lives, an academic adventure, which will prepare them to lead a rewarding and fulfilling life.

The Freshman Convocation is a ceremonial event held at most colleges and universities in America today. Typically, this symbolic and traditional event marks the beginning of the academic year, and most important, welcomes incoming students to the institution, to its culture and environment, to its history and traditions, and to its leaders, its faculty, and staff.
